The eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range is diverse, rugged and filled with scenic wonders. The area is home to several wilderness areas and national forest including the John Muir Wilderness, the Sierra National Forest and the Toiyabe National Forest. With elevations ranging from 900 feet to over 14,000 feet, this area is a Mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. The area is filled with all types of recreational opportunities to include hiking, backpacking, fishing, rock climbing, and wildlife viewing.
