Overview: Bishop, California is located on the eastern slope of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains on US Highway 395. The central feature of the Bishop Mule Days Celebration is the mule show. Mule owners show off their mules in a rodeo type competition. Sometimes the competition is a test of skills and other times more like a Wild West show. The mules race, jump and work cattle while their trainers and riders participate in shoeing competitions, chariot racing and team roping.
