June Lake Real Estate
When it’s just not enough to visit a wonderful place, it’s time to buy some real estate! Or if selling is the goal, check out the latest Residential and Commercial properties, condominiums, lots and acreage realtors and listings available in the popular alpine June Lake community and year-round recreation area.
Cabins, condos and mountain dwellings, oh my! You can get away from it all but still have everything you need in the June Lake Loop, a friendly Eastern Sierra mountain community. Located a few miles from US HWY 395’s junction with California State Route 158, this four-lake, horse-shoe shaped, year-round mountain resort area is the ultimate living opportunity.
According to Lynn Morton, a local broker in June Lake, an average single family dwelling in the June Lake area is priced to sell at approximately $499,999, with 12 homes on the market as listed in early August 2009. Due to significant private land ownership, there are approximately 500 acres of fee simple land. “That’s property you can hold a title to,” explains Morton. While June Lake’s population hovers around 350 residents, Morton says, the popular destination swells with activity throughout the summer and winter, with millions of people living within a 7-hour drive of the alpine paradise. And, those moving to the June Lake area (elevation 7,650 feet) can now get here even faster; Visitors, residents and outdoor sports enthusiasts alike continue to enjoy the new non-stop, 70-minute flights from LAX into Mammoth Lakes Yosemite Airport as initiated by Horizon Air in Winter 2008/2009. Remember to also take advantage of the free Mammoth Lakes bus service and trolley.
Most people buying in the June Lake Loop are second home owners, Morton says. She and her husband are 9-year residents of June Lake and love living there.
“It’s a beautiful place to live,” Morton says. Residents and visitors can send their kids to the local Lee Vining Elementary School, and have access to a hospital and fire department if needed, and there’s even a little general store nearby that carries “lots of everything,” Morton continues.
